Given the near perfect weather that much of Tennessee has enjoyed over the last few weeks, a person could be forgiven for thinking that we are currently in the beginning of September. As wonderful as these temperate conditions have been, however, the reality is that we’re now approaching the midway point of November, meaning colder weather is imminent.
It isn’t all bad, however, as we are now just a little over two weeks from Thanksgiving, a holiday that will see many of us hitting the roads and highways in order to spend a few days with family and friends.
Of course, with this influx of Thanksgiving traffic comes an increased risk of motor vehicle accidents, as many motorists engage in altogether reckless conduct behind the wheel — speeding, tailgating, cutting off other drivers, etc. — in the mistaken belief that it will somehow get them to their destination faster.
This is not to mention the danger posed by those motorists who feel compelled to drive distracted, drive drowsy or even drive impaired.
As alarming as all this is, it’s important to understand that in the event the unimaginable occurs and you are involved in a serious motor accident, you are not alone as you navigate this unfamiliar landscape. More significantly, you are not without options for seeking justice.
