Tax Evasion: The Crime That Never Pays

We talk a LOT about how tax evasion is one of the worst choices you could ever make. Why Some Trials Take Years to Close: The Case of James Holmes

Many people may wonder why some criminal trials can take years to come to a close, such as the case of James Holmes, the infamous mass murderer who killed 12 people and injured 70 more in a shooting rampage during a theater showing of The Dark Knight in 2012.

Tennessee Horse Soring Case Paused Due to Search Warrant Issues

In a case reported by the Daily Times, defense attorney Rob White won his motion to suppress evidence gathered regarding a horse-soring case in Maryville, TN. White's clients, horse trainer Larry Joe Wheelon, owner of Larry Wheelon Stables in Maryville, TN, and his employee Randall Gunter, are facing charges of aggravated animal cruelty charges after the stables were raided by authorities in April of 2013.  However, due to an issue with the way evidence was obtained for the raid, the trial has reached a standstill.

In the case of Wunder vs. Wunder, No. M2014-00008-COA-R3-CV, (Tenn. Ct. App., Dec 22, 2014) Husband and Wife were declared divorced in May of 1999. The partes' Marital Dissolution Agreement or "MDA" gave primary custody of the two minor children to Wife and obligated Husband to pay $4,000 in monthly child support. Husband also agreed to fund a college trust account of $800.00 per month, per child. A provision in the MDA titled "Reduction of Child Support" stated that court approval must be obtained before a reduction in child support could be made.
